John Williams to Compose Original Music for Galaxy's Edge, Plus New Attraction Names!

Disney Parks Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek announced today at D23’s Destination D that legendary film composer John Williams will compose all new themes exclusively for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the new Star Wars theme park expansion opening in summer of 2019 at Disneyland in California and Fall 2019 at Disney World in Florida.


In addition, Mr. Chapek also announced the names of the two new rides featured in Galaxy’s Edge. The first, a ride that puts you in the middle of a battle between the Resistance and the First Order, will be called Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

The second ride, which will give you and your group a completely interactive experience as you fly a mission on the Millennium Falcon will be called Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
