Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. (NEW WRITER)

I’ve been trying to figure out how to right this review without giving away too much of the story away – spoilers are not fun for anyone.

To say this movie was awesome would be an understatement. Set two years after the first Guardians movie, we see how the team has bonded and the change in dynamic of the relationships between team members.

One of the best moments for me is at the beginning of the movie – we were given a sneak of the beginning action sequence is in the trailer as the Guardians fight a very large tentacle monster, but this action sequence although great on it’s own is put over the top by it’s smallest member. That’s right, although the action and the dynamic between Drax, Gamora, Rocket & Star Lord is good on it’s own, but Baby Groot is really who made the opening sequence so memorable.

We see Baby Groot try to hook up  some equipment, could it be something to help topple the tentacle monster behind him? Nope, it’s a sound system and as soon as he has connected the cables music begins to play through the speaker and we are treated to a massive dance party from our pint sized hero. While Baby Groot gets his groove on the rest of the team works to defeat the tentacle monster.

The rest of the film is so great, and the more in depth look we get at characters who we didn’t get to learn too much about or see more sides of them.

One of the things I love about this movie was the family dynamic not only between the Guardians as a team, but how the movie had an underlying theme of family, specifically the idea of a father and son relationship as we delve into Peter Quill’s past, but also the idea and meaning of sisters, bring the reappearance of Karen Gillian as Nebula into an interesting perspective.

As I said in the beginning I struggled with writing this review because I didn’t  want to spoil anything, and there was a lot that happened in this movie that is so great, that if you’ve seen the movie you know the parts I am thinking of. Of course if you haven’t seen it yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??

Keep in mind, this is a Marvel movie, and we are given 4, that’s right FOUR after credit scenes – so make sure you stay till the very end!
