Adrift Movie Review

Based on a True Story, this flick was nice but not nearly as intense as I had expected it to be.
I love Sam Claflin and have enjoyed Shailene Woodley's work in the past and both definitely delivered. If you've seen the trailers, you'll know that Shailene ends up having to do most of the work and she takes the lead wonderfully.  However, they broke the story up into parts; showing both what happened prior to the storm, and what the characters did to try and survive afterward.
I almost wish they had just told the story from beginning to end because there was no build up to the storm. Audiences knew it was coming from the trailers so I think it would've been more impactful had they not gone back and forth while telling the story. Especially considering this larger than life tale really happened.
I won't give anything away, but I had read a few articles questioning whether or not the film held true to the original story or if events had been altered in order to give it a more "Hollywood" ending. For those of you who know what happened in real life, I'll be happy to tell you they do conclude the story the right way. I won't say more than that.
